Assign Team Members to a Client

    You can assign team members to individual clients or to multiple clients. For more information, refer to the Assign Team Members to Multiple Clients article.

    Assign individual team members to individual Contacts from the client profile. Start this process by clicking on a Contact in the Contact List.

    Roles/permissions:

    • Role: Admin
    • Permissions: Team Members

    1. Click on the Manage Team Members icon in the top-right corner of the Client Record.

    2. In the Manage Team Members pop-up window, select the team member you wish to assign to the client.

    • You can check the Select All box to select all team members.
    • Use the Search bar to Search a team member.
    • Team members you select will highlight in green.

    3. Click Done to save your changes.

    • If you need to Create a New Team Member, refer to the Invite New Team Members to Canopy article.  
    • Canopy will send a notification to the team members selected to let them know they have been assigned to the client.

    Removing Team Members From a Client

    Removing a team member from a client will not remove the team member from Canopy. The team member will still have access to Canopy but they will not have access to this specific client’s profile. Start this process by clicking on a Contact from the Contact Dashboard.

    1. Click on the Manage Team Members icon in the top right corner of the client record.

    • In the Manage Team Members pop-up window, team members assigned to the client will be highlighted in green.

    2. Click on the team member you want to remove from the client.

    • Once clicked, the team member will be greyed out.

    3. Click Done to save your changes.

    • A notification will display letting you know the team member has been removed from the client.

    Bulk Assign Contacts to Team Members

    Contacts can be assigned to team members in bulk in the Canopy settings. To get started, click on your profile image on the global navigation bar.

    1. Select Settings from the popout menu.

    2. Select Team Members and Teams from the navigation column.

    3. Click View & Manage in-line with the team member you wish to assign or unassign contacts.

    4. Click Assign new contacts to search for a specific client to assign.

    • Click on each contact you want to assign.
    • Input a search for a specific contact, as needed.
    • Click Done when finished.

    5. Alternatively, select a quick assign option from the Options menu.

    • Copy Contacts From: This option will copy contacts from a selected team member and share access with the current team member.
    • Reassign Contacts From: This option will reassign contacts from a selected team member and transfer access to the current team member.
    • Assign All Contacts: This option will give the current team member access to all contacts.
    • Remove all contacts: This option will remove the current team member's access to all contacts.

    6. Confirm your changes by clicking Save changes.
