The tasks dashboard will show you the status, task name, task type, contact, date, date type and assignee(s) for each task created. Use the task list to filter or sort tasks, pin tasks, quickly update task details, and view subtask details.

    Roles/permissions:

    • Roles: Any
    • Permissions: Work

    1. Click Tasks on the global navigation bar.

    • A new panel will slide in from the left.

    2. Click Task List on the slide-in panel.

    Adding New Sortable Columns

Additional attribute columns may be added to your task list to help you sort and filter tasks to suit your needs. For help creating new filter views and adding sortable columns, please refer to the Create New Filter Views article.

Collapsible Subtasks on the Task List

Subtasks can be shown or hidden on the task list and an in-line dropdown arrow can be used to view or collapse subtasks.

Show or Hide Subtasks on the Task List

    1. Navigate to your Task List in Canopy.

    2. Click on the Options menu in the top-right corner.

    3. Click on Subtasks to show or hide subtasks on the task list.

    • A green, in-line checkmark designates that Subtasks will be shown.
    • If there is no in-line checkmark, Subtasks will be hidden on the task list.

View Hidden Subtasks on the Task List

If you have chosen to hide subtasks on the task list, you will only be able to see the subtasks associated with an expanded task.

    1. Locate a task with subtasks on the task list.

    • Next to each task name, a small box indicates the number of completed subtasks and the total number of subtasks assigned to that specific task.

    2. Click on the in-line dropdown arrow to expand the task's subtasks.

    3. When finished, click on the arrow again to collapse the subtasks.

    • A subtask icon will display next to each subtask.

    Copying a Task

You may wish to copy certain tasks. To do this, an initial task must already be created. If you would like help creating a task, refer to the Create a Task articles in the knowledge base.

    1. Right-click on the task you wish to copy.

    • A drop down menu will pop up.

    2. Choose Copy task from the dropdown menu.

    3. In the Copy Task window, edit the fields of your copied task as needed.

    • The Task Name will default to (copy) [Task Name] until you edit it.

    4. Click Create and manage to continue to the Task Workspace.

    • Click Create and close to save the task to return to the Task dashboard.

    Removing a Task

You can remove a task in one of two ways: archiving or deleting a task. Archiving a task removes the task from the Task List but not from Canopy completely. Deleting an archived task removes the tasks permanently from Canopy. A task must be archived before it can be deleted.

    Archiving a Task

    1. Right-click on the Task you wish to remove.

    2. Click Archive from the pop-up menu.

    • The task will be moved to the Archived Tasks list.

    Restoring Archived Tasks

    1. Click the Options icon in the top right corner of the Tasks Dashboard.

    2. Click Archived Tasks.

    • The Archived tasks pop up window will open.

    3. Click Move to active to restore a task back to the active task dashboard.

    4. When finished deleting or unarchiving tasks, click Done.

    • The restored tasks will appear in the list of active tasks.

    Deleting Archived Tasks

Once a task is archived, it can be viewed under Archived Tasks and deleted from there. To get started, click on the Tasks tab in Canopy.

    1. Click the Options icon in the top right corner of the Tasks Dashboard.

    2. Click Archived Tasks.

    • The Archived tasks pop up window will open.

    3. Click Delete to permanently remove a task.

    • To find a specific task, you can type a search for archived tasks in the field provided.
    • Click Move to Active to move the task to the Task Dashboard.

    4. Click Done to close the Archived Tasks window.
